Want to see what life at YULA is all about? Then come to visit YULA!

On your visit, you will be assigned a student ambassador who will guide you on a typical day at YULA. You will visit classes, mingle with student leaders, talk to teachers, meet the STEAM team, and more. The day begins at 8:00 AM with davening and pick-up is at 2:30pm.

For more information, please see our Visiting Day page.

If you have any questions, please contact Jesse Orenshein at 310.203.3180 ext:3189 | jorenshein@yula.org

STEP THREE: TRANSCRIPT

YULA requires an official transcript from each prospective student. This transcript is obtained from your son’s current school. Please contact your son’s school or submit a completed Authorization for Release of Records form (which you can access by clicking HERE). Your son’s full 7th and 8th grade transcripts should be emailed to boysadmissions@yula.org or sent to:

YULA High School – Boys Division
Attn: Jesse Orenshein
9760 West Pico Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA 90035

STEP FOUR: RECOMMENDATION FORMS

Two recommendation letters are required; one from a General Studies educator and one from a Judaic Studies educator. To access the YULA Recommendation Form, please click here: YULA High School Boys Division Admissions Recommendation Form

STEP FIVE: SCHEDULE AN INTERVIEW

The last component of the application process at YULA High School Boys Division is the interview with our Head of School, Rabbi Arye Sufrin, as well as members of the Admissions Committee. This personal interview allows us to get to know your son individually and to answer any questions that you or your son may have about YULA.

Interviews are held in January and February. To schedule an interview, please contact Jesse Orenshein at jorenshein@yula.org.

The interview will last approximately 30 minutes, and at least one parent must accompany the student for the interview.

STEP SIX: APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID (OPTIONAL)

YULA has a limited amount of money available for financial aid.  All monies are awarded on a first come, first serve basis, to financial applicants that qualify. This could mean that depending on when you apply and the number of requests previously approved, funds may not be available, even if you would otherwise qualify.

If you complete your financial aid application by January 2, 2025 and your application for admission is accepted, you will receive your tuition assessment with your decision letter in February. After January 2, 2025, financial aid packages will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis. For more information about applying for financial aid, please visit https://yula.org/admissions/boys-division/tuition-financial-aid/.

STEP SEVEN: DECISION LETTERS

Decision letters will be received by February 21st, 2025.

Please feel free to call us with any questions you may have. We’re here to help and guide you through the process!
